Federico Sambolino was born in Genoa, Italy in 1975 and currently lives and works in Milan.
A love of travel fast grew into a passion for photography and today Federico manages to combine both alongside his work as a tax lawyer. His travels have taken him through Europe, Africa, South America, Asia, Oceania and the Middle East, all of which have provided an inspiring playground for his photography. His work therefore express a personal and cultural insight of the places he has explored, amongst which many remote corners of the earth.
Federico particularly enjoys shooting people and natural wonders and has built his portfolio around these subjects. From the magnetic look of a girl in Mozambique to the dramatic north face of Mt. Everest, from the buzzing souks of Yemen to the green terraces of the Yunnan province in China, you will find the essence of the earth and its amazing diversities.
His most recent projects include a reportage on the tanneries of Fez, portraits of Uzbekistani women and an exploration of the dramatic wilderness of Iceland.
As winner of the "Photo of Merit
" in the 2008 National Geographic Contest, his picture "Yemeni women on a red wall" has been published in the November 2008 Italian issue of the magazine. Federico is available for assignment projects, exhibitions, reportages and publication.
